The Poop Deck is a charming 17th century former Inn located in the heart of the ancient riverside town of Upton upon Severn.
The cottage is bursting with character features: exposed floors, original beams, an immense Inglenook fireplace, and handsome furnishings. The Poop Deck enjoys first floor sitting room, fully fitted kitchen, dining room with woodburner, and a delightful courtyard garden. A carport suitable for one small vehicle completes the property.
Upton is an ideal base for cycling, rambling and fishing, with stunning countryside on your doorstep - the Severn Way provides miles of riverside walks.
The town boasts numerous excellent pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the cottage, so you won't need to worry about driving.
Regency Cheltenham and the Cotwolds, as well as the Malverns Hills and Great Malvern, are just minutes away. The Three Counties Showground and the fabulous Malvern Theatres are an easy 10 minute drive. If you fancy a flutter, Cheltenham Race Course, with it's thrilling Open and Festival Gold Cup, is a mere 20 minute drive!
There are plenty of activities in the direct vicinty to keep you busy during your stay: superior golf facilities are available at Puckrup; the GWR steam Railway operates throughout the year from Toddington; Gloucester Catherdral and Docks are a mere 20 minute drive; as well as the Cotswold delights of Broadway, Chipping Campden and Stow on the Wold, a pleasant trip through the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside.
If you prefer a slower pace, boat trips will take you down the Severn River to the medieval town of Tewkesbury, and its glorious Abbey.
This property offers 3 bedrooms on three floors. The master bedroom enjoys 6 ft Superkingsize zip and link bed (which can be converted into two 3ft single beds on request). There is a further double bedroom, and a childrens twin bedded room equipped with 3ft beds. There is one bathroom with power shower over bath. The kitchen breakfast room is fully equipped with all mod cons, as well as dining area. The separate large dining room has beams and large inglenook with woodburner. The sitting room seats 6 comfortably, and has flatscreen TV, Digibox and DVD. There is a good sized courtyard garden - a suntrap - with cottage garden planting, and plenty of seating, as well as a bar-b-que.
The property comes fully equiped with quality linens and towels, fuel for the wood burning stove, as well as a well stocked larder, to ensure you don't need to bring the contents of your kitchen!
Your dog is welcome at The Poop Deck, and will enjoy the miles of riverside walks on the doorstep - doggy heaven!

There’s much more to this county than sauce and apples as you’ll find out when you stay in one of our holiday lets or cottages in Worcestershire. There’s one of the finest views in England for a start, along the nine miles ridge of the Malvern Hills. Elgar composed many of his greatest works in Malvern and the wide vista must have been a source of inspiration for him. The nineteenth century spa town of Great Malvern is the home both of Malvern Water and Morgan cars, and boasts an impressive priory with some fine stained glass windows.
Other places of interest to enjoy on one of our Worcestershire cottage holidays include the pretty town of Evesham, set on the River Avon, and the nearby Blossom Trail, a joy to behold when the orchards are in bloom. The county town of Worcester has some interesting old timber buildings and a fine cathedral. Witley Court was once a great house but is now a spectacular ruin. The magnificent fountains here have been restored to full working order. Also well worth seeing are the unique pump rooms at Tenbury Wells, another of the spa towns that grew up on the excellent quality of Worcestershire’s spring water.
